Slumdog millionaire is one of the best cinema creations in our time. There is no argument about that. It shows how many people suffered by in asia specially in south Asia. Still there are many people living in slums in India, Sri Lanka & other south Asian countries. Although the terrorism has became the biggest problem in area, the problems of residencies, food, Joblessness and increase of the popularity are also biggest problems in south asia. Now the economical crisis has begun to affect these countries. There is a ongoing war in sri lanka too.
So we’ll turn our intention on this movie what really shows the reality of living. Also we can see a great music, scrip writing & camera. the scene relating to amithab bachan( who uses to call as a giant of the bollywood), the hindi cinema) is a scene that improves the intensity of the movie theme. This is a movie what is basically made to point the suffering of the people who lives in slums in India. But there is a nice love story that shows how much strong human feelings are. Also this indicates that great human feelings are not limited to any class, any social conditions. It shows that we can anticipate great human feelings even among the people who live in slums. But boyle has tried take our minds to the main theme of the movie by this kind of scenes such as the scene when the orphanage keeper is making that poor children blind by putting acid into their eyes. That is also making us to care the main theme. Other side the last scene, when jamal meets her girlfriend lathika, he discards the gash on lathika’s face & kisses the gash, That’s a situation turns our intention to the romantic side of the story with a great end to the story.
I heard that someone is saying that this “is a pooper’s dream”. It’s right that this movie is not very close to the practical life. But this is the cinema, this is the literature. It never completely equals to the reality. The probability of things happening is not affecting to the literature normally. Personally, I think this is one of the great movies I have ever seen.
